Rue du Parc Royal

A one-bedroom apartment about a hundred metres from the Musée Picasso, on one of the quietest streets in the Marais. It was fully renovated by an architect, and the result keeps the proportions and mouldings of classic Paris while everything you actually touch is contemporary.

Inside

The living room takes in a lot of natural light and looks discreetly onto the interior courtyard, which has a fountain running in summer. There is a separate bedroom with a proper bed and good linen, a fully fitted kitchen with an adjoining dining area, and a bathroom with a large shower and a whirlpool bath. The apartment also has access to a garden courtyard.

The neighbourhood

Rue du Parc Royal is a short, quiet street in the Marais, lined with the old facades and private mansions that give the quarter its character, and with galleries, independent shops and cafes at either end. The Musée Picasso is a hundred metres away, the Musée Carnavalet and its history of Paris about five hundred, and the Centre Pompidou and Musée des Arts et Métiers are both an easy walk.

Getting around

Saint-Paul (line 1) and Chemin Vert (line 8) are the closest stations, both a few minutes on foot. Line 1 runs direct to the Louvre, the Champs-Élysées and La Defense.

Parking

Nearest car park: Parking Temple — 132 Rue du Temple, 75003, about 10 min on foot. Public garages nearby charge around 28–45 € per 24 hours. There is no private parking at the building, and street parking in central Paris is limited and charged.
